Fitting The Ventura Bike Rack System |

|
This is almost the complete ZRX1200R Pack Rack System, the only thing that is missing is the "Grab Rail" it was backorder at the time these photos were taken. Grab Rail photos now loaded, see bottom of photos. |

This shows the front view of bags mounted to the removable rack system for ease of fitment to the main frame on the ZRX1200R. |

My ZRX1200R prior to the Ventura Rack System being fitted. Note: The tank is not dented, it is actually the sun light reflecting on the new paintwork, also creating shadows. |

The tool box needs to be removed so as to gain access to the hand grip bolts. |

You may require spacers (washers) between bike frame and rack mounts before tightening, every bike frame has slight variations in dimensions.

Ready for attaching rack to ensure correct clearance before tightening. I used the Sports Rack to do this as it was smaller and less cumbersome.
Use some candle or bees wax on the ends of the rack prior to fitting into the main rack mounts, is slides in a lot easier.
(See Hint) |
|
Hint: Slip the rack into the main mounts, this will hold the mounts at the right width. At this point you will need to check the spacing and add spacers (washers) between the frame and main mount. If you get this wrong, you will not be able to remove or attach the rack after it is tightened. |

|
| Tighten up the four bolts rack mount to bike frame bolts, now try to remove the sports rack. If you can remove and reinsert the sports rack, then you have the correct spacing, otherwise undo the bolts and add some spacers. It's trial and error! |
|
Replace your tool box and tighten the two phillips head screws, then put the seat back on. The rack looks quite at home on the bike. |
